Concealed Carry Course is a comprehensive course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. This four hour course is a complete guide to understanding Weapon Safety & Ownership, the carrying of a weapon and responsibility of handling the weapon at all times. This class also includes live fire at the local range. We will cover conflict avoidance and situational awareness; home security and home defense; handgun basics; shooting fundamentals; the physiology of violent encounters; the legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath); and a guide on gear, gadgets, and ongoing training. Students will leave the course with the required certificate and instructions to submit their Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit application to the Circuit Court in their city.
Event Held: 3/15
What You'll Learn:
We are collaborating with Strong Arms Gun Club and Black Site Academy Outdoor Range to host an open range shooting event focused on basic and intermediate handgun skills. The primary emphasis will be on firearms safety and foundational handgun techniques designed to foster confidence in firearm handling. Qualified instructors will provide comprehensive, hands-on training to reinforce safe practices and responsible gun handling. Participants will also demonstrate their proficiency by discharging handguns and shotguns at targets placed between 3 and 25 yards on the range.

Will you be able to pull the trigger? Simply owning and carrying a firearm is only half of the equation. The other half is mental, and it's a decision you need to make before walking out the door with a gun on your person, or in your purse.

While men and women can most certainly practice and perfect the same firearms tactics and techniques, it’s important to acknowledge that males and females are built differently and often learn differently too.
