Here's to Strong Women!
~ May we know them ~ May we be them ~ May we raise them ~
Even before women could vote, they could legally carry firearms for self-defense.
As Susan B. Anthony was quoted on our home page, "A woman must not depend on the protection of a man, but must be taught to protect herself."
Training is all about sharing the basics — along with the fun, seriousness and importance of being a responsibly armed female. It is your responsibility to protect yourself and those you love, don't leave it up to anyone else. The choice is yours. Like it or not, you are your families First Responder. It can take anywhere between five to ten minutes for the police to arrive to an emergency. You should have a protection plan in place of what to do until police arrive to help you.
Heels & Steel Training Institute is dedicated and committed to the training and continuous education of women in the Hampton Roads area and beyond to ensure you are NOT the next victim. Life never stop teaching and neither do we.
Heels & Steel Training Institute have classes for those who are a little more seasoned than others. Senior citizens are being targeted for random acts of violence in the U.S. more than ever before. Seniors are among the most vulnerable demographics for unlawful attacks and assaults.
During your class, we won't rush you. We will start slowly, and only progress to a new skill level once the previous one is mastered. We will not leave any Senior behind.
"Train up a child in the way they should go: and when they are older, they will not depart from it. " ~~Proverbs 22:6
We truly believe in educating children on the safe handling of firearms. Not only
by teaching them the Universal Safety Rules while in the classroom and shooting on the range, but what to do if they see a gun while playing at a friend's home. We stress "if you see something, say something," and the affects of peer presure. We also stress that safety is fundamental to all shooting activities. Master the basics and it will carry you throughout your life.
For the first steps in Basic Handgun Fundamental courses, there is no minimum age requirement, provided that the student is mature and responsible, has the required positive attitude when handling firearms, and is able to follow along with the lessons and course materials. The student must successfully demonstrate the knowledge which they have gained with safe gun handling skills, before moving on to the next stages of lessons. We train the next generation to be responsible gun owners.
“I would like to see every woman know how to handle guns as naturally as they know how to handle babies.” ~~ Annie Oakley
